Why Gov. Otti Has Refused To Join Peter Obi In ADC – Chiefpriest

Chief Priest Claims Gov. Otti’s Allegiance to ADC Blocked by Tinubu’s Support for Abia Projects

Nigerian socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Chief Priest, has alleged that Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, declined to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, because of financial backing allegedly provided by President Bola Tinubu for infrastructure development in the state.

In a post shared on Instagram, the nightlife entrepreneur claimed that the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu has been supporting Abia State financially, enabling Governor Otti to execute developmental projects across the state.

He described Otti as an “amazing governor,” adding that his performance in office reflects what he termed presidential support and guidance. According to him, Nigerians should acknowledge the role of the President in empowering governors who are delivering projects in their respective states.

Chief Priest further argued that the challenges facing the country are not solely attributable to the Presidency, but rather to state governors who, in his view, fail to effectively utilize federal allocations received by their states.

He urged citizens to focus more on holding governors accountable for development outcomes, rather than blaming the Federal Government for governance shortcomings at the state level.

In his words, he claimed: “All of us dey support Asiwaju… If na lie, make him follow Peter Obi go ADC,” while insisting that allocations given to states are being effectively used in some cases, citing Abia as an example.

He further added that if all governors performed like their counterparts who, in his view, are delivering projects, Nigeria would experience better development outcomes.
