US Security Alert on Nigeria a Bad Omen for Investment, Stability — Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has warned that the recent security advisory issued by the United States concerning Nigeria could negatively affect foreign investment and national stability.

Obi described the development as “a serious concern” for Nigeria’s economic outlook, noting that investor confidence is closely tied to perceptions of security and governance.

He stressed that when major global partners issue alerts on security situations, it sends a strong signal to international investors, potentially slowing capital inflows and economic engagement.

According to him, Nigeria must urgently address its security challenges to prevent further reputational damage and reassure both local and foreign investors of the country’s safety.

Obi also called for stronger collaboration between government institutions and security agencies, insisting that restoring stability remains key to sustaining economic growth and attracting investment.
