Abia Lists Over 110 Projects as Otti Counters Critics

The Abia State Government has released a comprehensive list of over 110 projects completed and ongoing under Governor Alex Otti, insisting that visible development across the state outweighs criticisms from opposition elements.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the government described the projects as a practical demonstration of its commitment to governance and service delivery, dismissing opposition reactions as “noise and frustration.”

According to the statement, the projects span critical sectors including road infrastructure, healthcare, education, power, transportation, water resources, and institutional development.

The government highlighted major road rehabilitations and reconstructions across Aba, Umuahia and other parts of the state, alongside investments in public transport facilities, power restoration, and social services.

In the health sector, it noted the completion of 200 primary healthcare centres and the recruitment of nearly 700 medical personnel, while multiple hospital projects are ongoing. In education, over 200 public schools have been reconstructed and thousands of teachers recruited.

The administration also cited progress in power supply, erosion control, water schemes, and industrial revival, including the acquisition of key dormant assets to boost economic activities.

Ukoha said the list represents only part of the administration’s achievements, adding that more projects would be unveiled as work progresses.

“The list is not exhaustive. More projects will continue to be published as the administration remains committed to delivering visible and impactful development across Abia State,” he said.

He maintained that the government remains focused on executing projects that improve living standards and drive economic growth, rather than engaging in political disputes.
