Tinubu Tasks Acting IGP Disu to Crush Criminals, Restore Peace
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged the newly sworn-in Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to tackle criminality and restore peace across the country.
The directive came on Wednesday during the swearing-in and decoration ceremony of Disu at the State House, Abuja.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in Disu’s ability to lead the Nigeria Police Force effectively, noting that he has observed his dedication and commitment to duty since his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
“You have my full support to crush criminal elements across the country. You assume this responsibility at a defining moment for our nation’s security,” Tinubu said.
The President urged Disu to strengthen discipline within the force, enhance collaboration with other security agencies, and ensure the safety and peace of all Nigerians.
The appointment of Disu comes at a critical juncture for national security, with the government emphasizing the need for a more proactive and responsive police force to tackle rising threats across the country.
