Oluremi Tinubu Advocates Modesty, Mentorship for Nigerian Youths

The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians, particularly young people, to embrace modesty, cultural values, and moral character. She made the appeal on Thursday while hosting an interfaith Iftar and Lent breaking of fast for Muslim and Christian women.

“Nakedness is not acceptable in our culture. Beauty should be accompanied by decency,” Tinubu said, urging young Nigerians to value their identity rather than imitate foreign fashion trends that expose their bodies.

She also emphasized the role of parents in guiding the youth, encouraging them to mentor young people, provide scholarships, and teach leadership, good behavior, and appropriate dressing.

“Help them even if it’s to give a scholarship, teach them leadership, teach them how to behave well. Teach them how to dress properly because you can see that our young people like to expose their bodies. Teach them how to cover up because being naked is not beauty. I can only pray that God will answer all your petitions,” Tinubu added.

The First Lady further urged Nigerians to use the Ramadan and Lent periods for spiritual reflection, praying for national peace and prosperity, and fostering unity across different faiths.
