Release our son to us – Nnamdi Kanu’s kinsmen appeal to President Tinubu

Etitinabu Na Ndagbo Community Appeals to President Tinubu for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Umuahia, Abia State – The people of Etitinabu Na Ndagbo community in Afaraukwu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently release their son, Nnamdi Kanu.

The community made the appeal on Saturday during a press briefing, expressing concern over the emotional distress caused by Kanu’s continued incarceration to both his immediate family and the wider community.

Addressing journalists at the community hall, the kinsmen of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader called for a compassionate review of his case to facilitate his release and reunion with his family.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Professors Udochukwu Ogbonna and Leo Obinna, Ikechukwu Ndubueze, Mrs. Victoria Ngozi Orjinanta, and other natives described their people as peace-loving and law-abiding.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is our cherished son, whose continued incarceration has caused deep emotional distress to his family and our community,” the press release read.

The community urged President Tinubu to “listen to our plea and extend a hand of love to us by releasing Maxi Nnamdi Kenneth Okwu-Kanu.” They assured that, if released unconditionally, Kanu would continue to conduct himself as a law-abiding citizen and that his freedom would contribute to stability in the South-East.

Kanu’s kinsmen also expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, and House of Representatives member Obi Aguocha for their efforts in seeking his release.

During the gathering, community members were seen singing and beating the traditional gong, symbolizing distress and lamentation over Kanu’s detention.
