Troops Intensify Operations, Arrest Boko Haram Collaborators, Kill Commander in Adamawa

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have stepped up offensives against Boko Haram in Adamawa and Borno states, arresting suspected collaborators, killing insurgents, and recovering weapons and drones used in attacks on security personnel.

In a statement released on Friday by OPHK Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the military confirmed that “troops of Sector 4 under 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a terrorist logistics supplier, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.”

Recovered from Muhammed were an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs. He is currently in custody undergoing further investigation.

In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops neutralized a Boko Haram commander, Abdullahi Mafa, during an ambush around the Visik River line, seizing an AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine from him.

Following additional intelligence, 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula, identified as a terrorist collaborator and drone supplier, was also arrested. He allegedly supplied drones to insurgents, which were locally armed and used against troops. Authorities recovered two drones, drone accessories, and 20 solar power banks, highlighting the insurgents’ growing reliance on technology.

Meanwhile, in Borno State, OPHK troops, in collaboration with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu and neutralized a terrorist informant attempting to breach defensive positions, also recovering logistic supplies.

The military said the operations are part of “sustained efforts to disrupt Boko Haram supply lines, restore security, and protect communities across the North-East region.” The High Command commended the troops for their dedication and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and urged them to “sustain the operational tempo.”
