The Ohafia Local Government Area has commenced a rural road rehabilitation project aimed at improving transportation, boosting local commerce, and enhancing access to essential services across communities in the area.

The project, which covers key inter-community routes, is designed to ease movement for residents, farmers, traders, and commuters who rely heavily on local roads for daily activities. Officials say the rehabilitation will also improve access to schools, health centers, and markets, particularly during the rainy season.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing work, the Chairman of Ohafia LGA stated that the initiative aligns with the local government’s commitment to grassroots development. “Good roads are critical to economic growth and social interaction. This project is about improving livelihoods and connecting our communities,” he said.

Local farmers and transport operators have welcomed the development, noting that improved road conditions will reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, and minimize damage to farm produce during transit.

Community leaders have also praised the initiative, expressing hope that sustained infrastructure investment will attract more economic activities and improve the standard of living in Ohafia.

The local government has assured residents that the project will be completed within schedule and monitored to ensure quality delivery.
