Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Rector Hails Gov Otti as a "True Icon" on 61st Birthday

The Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Engr. C. K. Okoro, has congratulated Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, on his 61st birthday, describing him as a “true icon” and a transformational leader.

In a birthday message personally signed and released to the press, Okoro praised the governor’s leadership and governance style, characterising him as a gift to the people and a blessing to Abia State. He said the administration’s reform-driven and people-focused approach has had a significant positive impact on the polytechnic and the wider education sector.

According to the rector, the governor’s policies have supported the institution through infrastructural renewal, improved staff welfare, and other targeted interventions that have strengthened academic and administrative operations.

“Your Excellency, you are truly a gift to humanity and a blessing to Abia State. Your visionary and people-centered leadership has remarkably eased our work at Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, through massive infrastructural renewal, improved staff welfare, and other impactful interventions that have repositioned the institution for excellence,” the statement read.

Okoro further noted that residents of Aba and communities across the state are experiencing measurable improvements in governance and public service delivery under the present administration. He commended the governor for restoring public confidence and laying what he described as a strong foundation for a more progressive and prosperous state.

“With courage, competence, and compassion, you have laid a solid and enduring foundation for a new, progressive, and prosperous Abia State,” he added.

The rector, speaking on behalf of the management, staff, and students of the polytechnic, offered prayers for the governor’s continued wisdom, good health, and strength in office, wishing him greater success in the years ahead. He concluded by describing Otti as “the people’s governor” and extending best wishes on his birthday.
