Katsina CP Presents N32.3 Million to Families of Fallen Officers
Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, on Saturday presented cheques totaling N32.3 million to the families of six police officers who died while on active duty. The presentation, held in Katsina, was part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident scheme, designed to provide support to the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
The Commissioner of Police was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Usman-Gusau.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Shehu expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for his generosity towards the families. He urged the beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly, in line with the objectives of the scheme, and prayed for the repose of the departed officers’ souls.
Responding on behalf of the families, Hamza Surajo thanked the IGP for the gesture and promised to make prudent use of the funds to improve their lives. He also prayed for divine guidance for the leadership of the Katsina Police Command and the Nigerian Police Force at large.
