INEC Uploads 92% of FCT Chairmanship Election Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 2,602 out of 2,822 polling unit results from Saturday’s chairmanship elections across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), representing 92.2 percent of expected outcomes, according to the commission’s Result Viewing Portal as of 5:55 a.m. on Sunday.

Among the six area councils, the Municipal Area Council recorded the highest number of submissions with 1,309 of 1,401 polling unit results uploaded (93.43%). Ward-level uploads included Wuse (170 of 175), Gwarinpa (185 of 199), Garki (155 of 171), City Centre (135 of 151), and Kabusa (139 of 148).

Gwagwalada Area Council posted the highest completion rate at 97.63 percent, with full uploads from wards such as Gwagwalada Centre, Kutunku, Dobi, and Zuba. Bwari and Abaji councils also surpassed the 95 percent mark.

Kwali and Kuje councils lagged behind, uploading 81.59 percent and 79.01 percent of polling unit results respectively. Some wards in Kuje, including Kabi and Gudun Karya, had yet to submit results at the time of review.

INEC has assured that the remaining results will be uploaded promptly, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and the timely conclusion of the electoral process.
