Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has challenged newly promoted security personnel in the state to distinguish themselves in service to the nation, urging them to strive for positive impacts in society.

Speaking at a ceremony honoring eight officers attached to the Governor’s Office who were recently elevated to higher ranks, Otti emphasized that promotion is a divine gift and a stepping stone to greater achievements, not a resting place.

“Promotion comes from God,” he said. “Even those who may not openly acknowledge it know that elevation is divinely orchestrated. Make an impact, distinguish yourselves for good, let people see your efforts, and go the extra mile to deliver results.”

The governor encouraged the officers to uphold dedication, resilience, and integrity as core principles in their professional growth. “Be confident, always do the right thing, and embrace your responsibilities with integrity,” Otti advised.

He commended the officers for their diligence and commitment, noting that their promotions were earned through steadfast service and measurable results. “We thank you for your hard work, which has now translated into this well-deserved promotion,” he added, praying for their continued advancement and greater accomplishments.

In his vote of thanks, Mr. Maduka Chukwudi Obiora, promoted to Assistant Director in the Department of State Security Service (DSS), expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve under his leadership. He described the promotion as a call to greater responsibility and pledged continued dedication and loyalty in the discharge of their duties.

The governor concluded by reminding the officers that their new ranks are only the beginning. “This rank must be the least you will ever attain in your career. As you rise, pay attention to your responsibilities. Support will be available when needed, but what will be demanded is unwavering dedication, hard work, and resilience,” Otti said.
