APGA to Launch Nationwide E-Membership Registration from March 1
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced that it will commence continuous electronic membership registration nationwide on March 1, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a news conference on Friday in Awka, the Anambra State capital, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, said the exercise will take place simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 electoral wards.
Mr. Opara described the initiative as a demonstration of APGA’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and inclusivity in party administration. He recalled that in June 2024, APGA became the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration, a pioneering move aimed at improving efficiency and broadening participation.
According to him, the electronic registration, which began earlier, will officially reopen on March 1 and is open to all interested Nigerians. Prospective members are required to present a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs.
“The registration can be completed online via the party’s official website, www.officialapga.ng, through WhatsApp on 07055363333, or at ward centres where registration forms are available,” he explained. “New members will receive a temporary membership slip after registration, pending issuance of their permanent membership cards.”
Mr. Opara clarified that existing members who had already registered electronically need not re-register, though those who have not uploaded their passport photographs are encouraged to update their records online or via WhatsApp.
He urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the exercise to join APGA and contribute to national development. The publicity secretary disclosed that the party is on the verge of reaching the one-million-member mark, with the current drive aimed at increasing membership to two million.
