Abia ADC launches membership drive, unveils new national card

Abia ADC Launches Membership Mobilisation, Registration, and Revalidation Exercise

The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially commenced its Membership Mobilisation, Registration, and Revalidation (MMRR) exercise, aimed at reinforcing the party’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and grassroots engagement.

The launch, held on Sunday at the Kolping Event Centre in Umuahia, was presided over by the National Welfare Secretary, Comrade Nkem Ukandu, representing the National Chairman, Senator David Mark.

Prominent ADC leaders and stakeholders in Abia State, including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Hon. Uko Nkole, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Dame Ngozi Onuoha Orji, and Mr. Chimaeze Nwafor, were in attendance, alongside state and local government officials.

In his address, Senator Mark reaffirmed the party’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusiveness, emphasizing that leadership positions in Abia State will be determined through legitimate processes rather than imposed candidates or stakeholder preferences. He noted that ADC provides a platform where every member’s voice is heard and where fairness, accountability, and transparency are upheld.

Chairperson of the MMRR Committee, Dame Ngozi Onuoha Orji, highlighted the significance of the exercise in providing citizens with a political home, urging members to set aside factional differences and embrace unity.

The event also featured the unveiling of a new national membership card and party register, designed to ensure a secure and organized framework for party membership.

The launch attracted widespread participation and goodwill messages from party leaders, who underscored the importance of grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and unity as central pillars for electoral success. The national delegation included Queen Nkechi Okiyi, Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, who witnessed the historic event.
