EFCC Arrests Three Maiduguri Socialites for Naira Mutilation

Maiduguri, Borno State – The Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three socialites for allegedly mutilating Nigerian currency notes.

The suspects – Jibrin Bukar, Dauda Adamu, and Abdullahi Mohammed – were apprehended following the circulation of a viral video on social media showing them spraying and defacing Naira notes.

Acting on intelligence, the EFCC traced the trio and took them into custody in Maiduguri. The suspects are currently under investigation, and the commission has confirmed that they will be charged to court once the investigations are concluded.

The EFCC has reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of the nation’s currency and warned that any acts of Naira mutilation would be met with strict legal action.
