Wabara, Opposition Leaders Endorse Otti for Second Term in Abia
Ukwa-East, Abia State – Former Senate President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adolphus Wabara, alongside leaders of opposition parties in Ukwa-East Local Government Area, have declared their readiness to support Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP) for a second term.
The announcement was made on Thursday at Ohanku-Ndoki, Ukwa-East LGA, following the foundation laying ceremony of the Ukwa-East General Hospital.
Wabara moved a motion endorsing Otti’s re-election, which was seconded by Louis Obianyi, a serving member of the Abia State House of Assembly. In his remarks, Wabara emphasized that the support transcends party lines, noting satisfaction with Otti’s performance both in Ukwa-East and across the state.
Joining the endorsement, local leaders, including former Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okey Emuchay, appealed to Governor Otti to revive the Abia Palm Company in the area, citing its potential to create jobs and boost the local economy.
Earlier, during the flag-off of the Ukwa-East General Hospital project, Governor Otti reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all residents of Abia State have access to quality healthcare. He affirmed that his administration aims to leave no part of the state underserved in healthcare delivery.
In a related development, former members of the PDP and All Progressives Congress (APC) who had quit their parties were formally received into the Labour Party during a reception organized for Otti by the people of Ukwa-East.
